Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew - Head of Art at Mimimi Games

As the Head of Art, I held primary responsibility for all visual aspects of our game.

My objective was to achieve an aesthetically pleasing game that met its deadline, all the while ensuring the Art Team remained motivated and happy. Here is an overview of my tasks at Mimimi Games:

 

Art Direction

  • Responsible and go-to-person for all things visual
  • Maintaining the visual quality across the whole game
  • Ensuring game stays readable for the player
  • Giving, seeking and forwarding feedback
  • Regular updates with Development, Level & Game Design Departments 
  • Collaborating with the Marketing Department for all Marketing Assets
  • Setup of final Lighting & Color Correction Grading

Management

  • Making sure we stay within the project's timeline
  • Estimation and planning of artists tasks with the help of a Producer
  • Making rough feasibility assessments & flag problems
  • Knowing the  high-level state of all visual parts of the game

  •  Reviewing job applications

  •  Coordinating department-crossing problems and dependencies

2012-2021

 

Prior to working in games I worked on movies and tv shows in the VFX industry.

I started out as a 3D Generalist and continued my path as Lead 3D Artist and ended in the role of CG-Supervisor and therefore being responsible of the project's 3D department at Rise FX.
